Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our website. They help us provide you with a better experience by remembering your preferences, keeping you logged in, and enabling certain features to work properly.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential

Required for the site to work. Set for everyone; they cannot be turned off.

  • __Secure-next-auth.session-token - cookie. Keeps you signed in. Expires after 30 days.
  • __Host-next-auth.csrf-token - cookie. Protects sign-in and form posts against cross-site request forgery. Deleted when you close the browser.
  • __Secure-next-auth.callback-url - cookie. Remembers where to return you after signing in. Deleted when you close the browser.
  • NEXT_LOCALE - cookie. Remembers the language you chose. Expires after 1 year.
  • orbit-cookie-consent - local storage. Records the choice you made here, so we do not ask again. No expiry; clearing it brings the banner back.
  • nextauth.message - local storage. Lets open tabs notice that you signed in or out.

Functional

Remember a preference you set. Not used to track you.

  • currency - local storage. The display currency you picked with the switcher. No expiry.

Analytics - only if you allow it

We use PostHog to understand which pages and features are used. Nothing below is written until you allow analytics, and withdrawing consent removes it again.

  • ph_phc_…_posthog - cookie and local storage. PostHog’s device identifier and session state. The cookie expires after 1 year.
  • __ph_opt_in_out_phc_… - local storage. Records that PostHog may capture events.
  • ph_ident - local storage, only once you are signed in. Ties captured events to your account id.
  • ph_phc_…_window_id, _primary_window_exists - session storage. Distinguishes browser tabs. Cleared when you close the tab.

3. Managing Cookies

Essential cookies are always on and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality (login, security). You choose whether Analytics storage is set the first time you visit, via the cookie banner's Manage option, or with Accept All or Reject All. We set no advertising or marketing storage at all, so there is no such category to toggle. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, which brings the banner back.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may impact the functionality of our service and prevent you from logging in.

How to Manage Cookies in Popular Browsers

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services → Cookies

4. Third-Party Cookies

We may use third-party services that set their own cookies:

  • Payment processors for secure transactions
  • Analytics providers for usage statistics

5. Cookie Retention

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.

Persistent cookies remain on your device for up to 1 year or until you delete them manually. The sign-in cookie expires after 30 days.

Several of the items in section 2 are stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. Local storage has no expiry date: it stays until you clear this site's data in your browser, or until we remove it - which is what happens to the analytics entries when you withdraw consent. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
